Hollow Section

1.Higher bending strength: When the solid cross-sectional area and the annular cross-sectional area are equal, the bending resistance of the hollow section will increase by more than 112% than that of the solid beam, that is, the bending resistance has more than doubled. This is because the wall of the hollow section is like a series of connected arched bridges. The various arched parts squeeze and support each other, making it difficult for the tube to bend in any direction.

2.Lighter weight: Hollow section has a lighter mass, which gives it a significant advantage in applications where weight reduction is required. For example, in automobile manufacturing, the use of hollow aluminum tubes can reduce the weight of the entire vehicle, thereby improving fuel economy.

3.Higher material utilization: The design of the hollow section makes the material more fully utilized. Compared with the solid tube, the same material can make a longer or larger diameter hollow section.

4.High temperature resistance and corrosion resistance: Some hollow sections, such as stainless steel hollow pipes, have high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, which makes them widely used in some special environments.

Application

1.Construction field: Hollow sections are widely used in the construction field, such as hollow aluminum plates and hollow stainless steel plates in building exterior curtain walls, as well as building roofs, walls and structural supports.

2.Automobile manufacturing: Hollow sections are increasingly used in automobile manufacturing, such as automobile air conditioners, radiators, hydraulic systems, luggage racks, chassis and other components.

3.Aerospace: The aerospace field has high requirements for manufacturing materials, which require materials to be lightweight, high-strength, rigid, and able to withstand high temperatures, high pressures, and heavy loads.
